Notes:
According to a letter from the Maryland DOT, there was a small, interim printing of the base 1985-86 map in 1987 when Governor Schaefer took office. The new 1987 maps weren’t ready, so the old map base from 1985-86 was re-issued with a new cover design. This map is noted below as [1987 A].
A series of maps issued from at least 1965 to 1989, are titled “with Wildlife Resources Map” or “and Natural Resources Map.” These maps were issued by the Department of Natural Resources. They do contain the official Maryland state highway map inside, along with natural resource information. They are included here in a second listing below the primary listing.
Many other special maps were also produced by the DOT, such as “Map of Historic Maryland” (1966 and 1967), “Bicycle Touring” (1987 and later), “Maryland Scenic Routes” (1988 and later), “Scenic Byways” (1988 and later), and “Maryland Military Monuments” (1998). These are not listed here.
“MSA” refers to the Maryland State Archives map collection.
