WASHINGTON OFFICIAL MAPS

Notes:
Maps prior to 1931 were produced for internal use, and not meant for general distribution to the public.

The map listed as c.1945 has a 1944 copyright date inside, but could not have been issued any earlier than 1945 since Gov. Wallgren did not take office until Jan. 1945.

Many maps from 1959 to 1994 have two covers which could be considered the front. Only one side is described here.

Maps dated 1973 through 1982 include strip maps of I-5 and I-90. These were dropped from the map in 1984, but were then issued as a separate “Interstate Guide” publication in 1986. Further editions have been produced in 1991 and 1997.

The 2008-09 map is the last official map printed by the state due to state budget reductions and the advances in new driver technologies such as GPS and in-vehicle navigation systems. It is now only available in PDF format online.
