Notes:

Various sources list the first map published as 1914, 1915, and 1917. The earliest map in the Wisconsin DOT collection is the 1917 edition. The 1918 and 1919 maps are in a booklet with stats and info on Wisconsin. The Map is folded and pasted onto the back cover.

A note on maps issued in the mid to late 1920s indicates that three other variations were printed: 1) a pocket highway map, 2) a cloth mounted highway wall map, and 3) a highway service map, issued weekly from May to October. These maps also apparently were issued along with a “Rules of the Road” booklet, which served as a surrogate cover for the maps.

The 1982 map is completely undated. The 1983-84 map has a picture of an iceboat on the back side, with “WS 3848” printed on the hull. According to the Wisconsin DOT, this is a code for the date, 1983-84, although this same code appears on the 1985-86 map, which is dated in the legend.
